We will hold the 57th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology (2020, Yokohama). The theme of this conference is “Spread medical treatment of pediatric allergy to the fourth dimension”. You may imagine a somewhat science fiction-like arrangement; however, I think this is just what we need in pediatric treatment for allergies today.

Considering the first-dimensional to third-dimensional aspects of pediatric treatment, the medical team represents the first dimension, the cooperation with co-medical and paramedical stuff represents the second dimension, and communication with academic societies, administration, educational institutions and research institutions represent the third dimension. At this conference, we are planning to have a borderless and three-dimensional discussion with other departments and occupations.

I think that, if we could try to see the future with a four-dimensional viewpoint, we can expect further progress in the medical treatment of pediatric allergy. Recent reports on the long-term development of childhood allergies diseases suggest that we need to pay attention to medical treatment and education not only during childhood but also throughout each individual's life, with a bird's-eye view. On the clinical side, the nurturing of young doctors is also an important issue when thinking about the future.

Now, we are working hard to make this a fruitful academic conference that promotes uninterrupted good health in the future, and we look forward to the cooperation of our members.
